WWW,
March 2007 - More often than not, when you
visit a specific artist's website you will
not really find anything more than a list of
releases.
Sure, many
of these sites may have a spectacular
presentation. But then, it's all in the
presentation and not in the contents. And do
we really surf the Internet just to look at
spectacular presentations?
Asking the
question is answering it.
Many artist
websites are therefore not really that
interesting, and difficult to browse through
on top of that.
Alpha and
Omega's DUB SITE in no way fits that
category. It's called a DUB SITE and a DUB
SITE it is!
Alpha &
Omega themselves need no introduction, we
believe. The few that don't know them,
should visit the website in order to cure
themselves from that handicap.
The dynamic
UK DUB DUO has been at the forefront of the
UK DUB scene since their debut in 1990. They
create some of the hardest riddims and work
together with a host of vocalists who voice
over them.
Alpha and
Omega tour all over the world, where they
perform for enthusiastic audiences. In the
same time, they manage to provide a
continual stream of DUB albums that have a
consistent quality.
They really
love Dub music and this shows not only in
the many productions they've released over
almost two decades, it shows in just about
everything they do.
Their
website testifies to this.
Interesting,
and actually pretty rare: the DUB Site has a
special section for musical producers where
you can find loops and even full vocal
tracks. The purpose is, that you use the
loops and samples to create your own Alpha
and Omega remix.
There's
quite a lot of free full-length MP3's on the
website, too. A remix from the Disciples,
for example. They can be found throughout
the website.
Just the
sounds? No way! The site has a couple of
video's, too. Full length Clips and
recordings from live performances give a
very nice impression of the duo's intense
DUB music.
There is
also a possibility on the website to give a
small donation. The duo told the Dubroom
that they have been suffering from
bootleggers to P2P software which took them
right into the danger zone, for without
these donations they are unable to release
more material.
Reasons
enough to pay a visit to the DUB SITE.
